Panda poo tea has "mature and nutty taste"

A Chinese entrepreneur has created the world's most expensive tea using panda poo.

An Yanshi, 41, bought 11 tons of the crap from a panda breeding centre in Sichuan province in south-west China and used it to grow tea leaves that costs £22,000 per pound.

Yanshi is so desperate to flog his brew that he's even claiming that it has anti-cancer properties.

Mr Yanshi's rationale is that 'pandas have a very poor digestive system and only absorb about 30 per cent of everything they eat.'

He adds: 'That means their excrement is rich in fibres and nutrients.

'Just like green tea, bamboo contains an element that can prevent cancer.'

Although his manufacturing process is a guarded secret, he has promised drinkers that they can expect a unique "mature and nutty taste".
